Semantix Companion

The memory sky

Everything a companion has kept, drawn as a starfield you can search, filter and open.

Most software that claims to remember you gives you no way to check. The memory sky is the answer to that: one screen holding everything a companion has ever kept, and nothing hidden behind a summary.

Open it from Memory in the sidebar.

A companion's memory sky

What you are looking at#

Each point of light is one memory. The lines between them are the links a companion drew when it decided two things belonged together.

Colour is kind. There are six:

Kind Roughly
insight something it worked out
project something you are working on
reference something to look up exactly
episodic something that happened
feedback a correction you gave it
user something about you

If you keep more than one companion, a picker labelled Whose mind decides which memory you are standing in. There is no combined view, because there is no combined memory.

Asking the sky#

The box reads Ask the sky…. Type a question and press Recall, and the sky searches itself — not the model, the memory. Results come back as a ranked list with a match score, and clicking one opens it.

If nothing fits, it says so rather than guessing: Nothing in this mind answers that.

Escape peels back one layer at a time: it closes an open memory first, and clears the search second.

Note

Search normally runs on two legs at once — meaning and words. If the meaning half is unavailable you are told, rather than quietly given worse results: Keyword leg only — the embedder is down.

Opening a memory#

Click one and its card opens with everything the companion knows about it: its kind and name, the one-line description, its importance, how many times it has been recalled, when it was carved, and then the memory itself in full.

At the bottom, its links. Click one to travel to that memory. A link to something that was never actually written shows as not written yet — a companion pointing at a memory it meant to keep and did not.

Along the bottom, the shape of the whole mind:

Counts. How many memories, how many links between them, and how many neighbours — pairs the app found similar even though the companion never linked them itself. Sometimes a count of promises: links pointing at memories that do not exist yet.

Kind chips. One per kind. Click to hide or show it, double-click to see only that one. An all chip brings everything back. When a filter is hiding something, the count changes to read N of M memories, so you always know you are looking at a subset.

The importance floor. A slider reading ≥ 0.00. Push it up and the trivia sinks out of view, leaving what the companion thought mattered most.

Archived. Off by default. On, and archived memories appear as ghosts.

A frame counter, because it is a live 3D scene and you may as well be able to see what it costs.

What you cannot do here#

The sky is a window, not an editor. You can search, filter and read; you cannot edit a memory, delete one, or archive one by hand. The only thing that writes to a companion's memory is the companion.
